In 2007 I was badly injured giving birth to my son. I was overjoyed to be a mother, but also in excruciating pain. I tried to manage it, but I became addicted to opiate painkillers. Addiction and pain robbed me of precious early years with my child. Some of that time is only a blur. After seven years, when I’d finally had enough, I tried medical cannabis.

Medical cannabis—CBD—helped me get clear. It’s become my go-to product for pain relief. CBD is not THC. It relieves my pain without any sort of “buzz” or mind-altering effects. So I can volunteer at my son’s school, go hiking, and just keep going all day—the way I could before I was injured.

There are so many misconceptions about medical cannabis. I totally get it. Before I joined Wellness Connection, I didn’t know that it was possible to get the benefits without the “buzz,” or without smoking. I was hesitant to try it for that very reason, because I have asthma. Now I want to tell everyone that CBD is different than THC. I just want to encourage people like me, who are in pain or addicted to painkillers, to give one of the many forms of CBD a try.

The Wellness Connection Changed my life

Wellness Connection’s CBD capsules are very effective and work quickly. I’m also loving the new CBD products—the biofreeze compound, tincture, and medicinal patches, which work great for me cut in half. There is no “high” effect with any of them, just pain relief, which clears my head to accomplish all the activities on my calendar.

I also just want to say that the people at Wellness Connection have been so welcoming and supportive of me on my journey from opioid addiction to freedom. They listen to me and recommend different products based on how I’m feeling. It’s a pleasant, comforting space. When I’m there I feel like I’m part of a community.
